Irondequoit, N.Y. — Monroe County's Department of Motor Vehicles branch in Irondequoit is now open at its new location.

The DMV held a grand opening Monday at Irondequoit Plaza near the corner of Titus and Hudson avenues, adjacent to its former location at the Titus Mall building.

The old location closed March 22. Monroe County Clerk Jamie Romeo described the new location as larger, more comfortable and more welcoming.

"We have three additional new testing stations here, so we will be able to conduct a lot more permit testing for the driver's licenses and for CDL permits," Romeo said. "We have more handicap-accessible spaces at all of our counters for individuals that may have disabilities, we've clearly redone some lighting, some camera work, there's a whole new system of IT equipment in the back, but there's a lot of things that we put a lot of time and effort into — all of the decisions that we made — to make sure we were creating that foundation to better serve all of you."

The branch will be open weekdays from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., with extended hours until 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Click here for more information.
